Wildcard DNS (similar to the machines) in Windows without a local DNS server dedicated …?
I have a test server running the local program Setup Apache2 with virtual hosting successfully. I want to create a system for *. dev is redirected to my test server to 192.168.0.4, I know I can do this for each site using the hosts file located in C: \ WINDOWS \ system32 \ drivers \ etc \ Unfortunately the Windows Hosts file not work with wildcard? I have dedicated local DNS server, but I have a system that redirects *. dev on my server without having to open and edit the hosts file of Windows ever. You know how this can be done? Thank you in advance.
Well, if it were me, I should probably just setup a proxy server to the desktop. Since you are trying to establish a new type of top-level domain? I think it's the only one that works. (You can use the same "apache2" machine as a proxy!) Hope that helps.
