What is the difference between a dedicated server and unmanaged?

They manage backups, maintenance of machinery, etc. For me, performing daily backups only worthwhile. The control area is also very comprehensive, and really need much of a FAQ. Managed means that you should know your way around the remote server applications, to use putty, etc. It's not pretty, once again, if you're just starting out.
